I am a musicologist and scholar-performer specializing in historical performance practices of classical music from the 14th through early19th centuries, as well as vernacular music in the American Southwest and the Louisiana Territory, and am an advocate for new music. I am also high school social studies teacher in Northern New Mexico.
My ensemble, Grand Cru Baroque (based in Santa Fe, formerly in Seattle), has commissioned several compositions since 2002, and has created an ongoing series of cross-genre programs with vernacular music players and ensembles called "Closing the Gap."

I currently teach social studies at Pojoaque Valley High School where I teach AP World History, US Government & Economics, and US History & Geography. I was previously the chair of the social studies department at Española Valley High School, where I taught AP World History, AP US History, and US Government and Economics, and was one of the faculty sponsors of the Farm to Table Club.
Before I began teaching social studies at
Española Valley High School in Española, New Mexico in January 2020, I previously taught musicology and music history at Sam Houston State University, and Texas Tech University.
